Develop local carpool

Some people will still need their car: imagine having your home far from your workplace while having to drop the children at school in a different neighbourhood, and no convenient public transportation allowing this 3-stop journey. However, carpool allows for colleagues, or more generally people working in the same district / living in the same neighbourhood, to use one car instead of four. The same goes with dropping children at school: if there is no public transportation (or if the children are just too young to take it alone), organise carpooling for one parent to bring several children in one car instead of different ones. If those cars are electric, even better for air quality, so local carpool platforms should be developed in parallel to policies encouraging / subsidising the use of electric cars.
